The msg.Hello portal follows the German Accessible Information Technology Ordinance (BITV). You can operate all functions without a mouse, and a dedicated contrast mode supports people with impaired vision.

Contrast mode

In the display selection in the top navigation, you choose between Light, Dark and Contrast mode. Contrast mode uses a fixed color palette whose combinations are tested for sufficient contrast. It replaces your tenant’s primary color. If you have enabled increased contrast in your operating system, the portal automatically starts in contrast mode as long as you don’t choose another display mode. More on this under Display and language.
If you as an administrator choose a primary color with too little contrast, the portal warns you. Users who need more contrast then switch to contrast mode.

Keyboard operation

With Tab and Shift + Tab, you reach every control. If you drag a panel divider with the mouse, Esc cancels the action and restores the previous layout.

Screen readers

Headings, lists and regions of the portal are marked up semantically, so screen readers can read out the structure of a page. Buttons and controls carry descriptive names, and sorted table columns announce their sort direction.

Language and date format

The portal is available in German and English. Dates and times follow the selected portal language, not the browser settings.
